How water softeners work

A water softener provides your home with luxurious softened water by removing the minerals that exist in hard water areas. The minerals (magnesium and calcium) are picked up when the water passes through hard rock before entering your water supply system.

Through a process of ion exchange, a TwinTec water softener removes these mineral deposits, leaving you with pure, softened water. The non-electric softener is powered by water pressure and the twin cylinders contain resin beads that trap the minerals in them, removing the hardness.
